skiffy profile

You scored as Serenity (Firefly). You like to live your own way and don't enjoy when anyone but a friend tries to tell you should do different. Now if only the Reavers would quit trying to skin you.

[The only part I don't get is Bab5 in third place. But that's a post for another time.]

I scored Moya. Now, I have no idea what that is, but I got it after a tie-breaker in which I opted for the existence of worm-holes over killing people to help my crew. I mean the latter is a complicated ethical conundrum, whereas, don't scientists agree that wormholes are theoretically real? Anyway, I got Babylon 5 as third, too ... can you expound on why that's a good or a bad thing? I have no idea.

Moya was the name of the living starship from the Farscape series. She could only communicate with the crew through her pilot (named Pilot). Wormholes figure prominently in how the main character ends up stranded where he is and how he hopes to get home.

This quiz misses the other "our starship is a living being" show that I used to enjoy watching during the same timeframe I was watching Farscape: Lexx. Lexx was the name of the ship, and he could speak directly with the crew. His intelligence level, however, was more like that of an obedient dog. I enjoyed Lexx a little more than Farscape because it was intended to be more humorous, with a quirky/twisted
sort of viewpoint. Here are some questions that could be added to the quiz to distinguish between people who would prefer Lexx to Farscape (and either from Babylon 5):

* You would not mind if your starship was a living being.

* You can ask your ship for any food you like, and it always gives you the same barf-like liquid.

* The lavatory in your ship is an unenclosed recess in the wall with a giant tongue that cleans you when you're finished.

* Your ship is the most powerful weapon in the Two Universes.

* The concept of a race of Warrior-Poets appeals to you.

* You don't mind traveling with a woman who is a love-slave/cluster-lizard hybrid.

* You score a 69 in a sci-fi quiz category and can't help grinning.

I also note that this quiz has two different shows from the Star Trek universe but only one from the Stargate series. If I had to chose
only between SG-1 and Atlantis, I would definitely prefer Atlantis. A question to select between the two might be "You would enjoy learning about the culture and technology left behind by an advanced race, even if it meant being far from home and at risk of attack from adversaries".

And how did I score on the existing quiz?

Serenity (Firefly) 94%
Babylon 5 (Babylon 5) 88%
Moya (Farscape) 88%
Millennium Falcon (Star Wars) 75%
SG-1 (Stargate) 69%
Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda) 63%
Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica) 56%
Deep Space Nine (Star Trek) 50%
Enterprise D (Star Trek) 50%
Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix) 50%
FBI's X-Files Division (The X-Files) 38%
Bebop (Cowboy Bebop) 25%

Since I was tied between Moya and Babylon 5, they were probably listed in alphabetical order. So I got Babylon 5 in second place instead of third.
